It’s there’s one thing more exciting than the Christmas period itself, it’s the home interior trends for winter 2018. With sensational sparklers emerging such as lustrous gold accents, there’s no escaping the magnificent decadence within this seasons movement.

If you’re one for staying ahead of the curve and are inspired by new collections, here are 5 home interior trends for winter 2018.

The Moody Blues

Bold pigments were certainly huge this summer, especially dark blues and nothing seems to be wavering our love for the colour navy. Big for the coming season and gentle on the eye, moody hues create an elegant ambience, especially during winter. If investing in a wall colour feels like too much of a commitment, play it safe with painted cabinetry, such as this beautiful classic kitchen. For this project, our clients desired a traditional and warm feel so navy was introduced along with cream shaker cabinets.

Neutral Home Interior Trends

Did you know that it takes a lot of thought when designing for simplicity? This is due to a blend of different elements such as colour, texture and pattern. This winter there is also an emphasis on natural-looking furniture so stripped-back timbers and raw wood grain are perfect for this trend. Additionally, Amtico flooring is fabulous for Nordic chic. Take this modern and calming kitchen, for example, that has a floor that simply flows.

Blackest Black

Monochrome enthusiasts will adore this trend which has graced designer homes for a while. Pull off this look with matte black handles, as shown in the below 1909 kitchen. Alternatively, matte black taps work well for kitchens and also bathrooms. Combine this look with neutral pieces, however, to balance out the effect nicely.

Gilded Home Interior Trends

It’s still all about the gold accents this season as they follow on from spring and summer. Think statement lighting or metallic fixtures and fittings, for the ultimate lavish effect. And it’s not just gold that is huge this season as the 80s are having a moment too. Get the look by dressing dark wood cabinetry with flecks of golden embellishments.

Tactile Kitchens

If there’s one thing we love at Twenty 5 Design, it’s a beautiful and show stopping kitchen. Which is why we’re so curious about the latest trend for mixing it all right up! This winter, luxury kitchen design is about contrasting worktops and splashbacks. It’s exciting, new and certainly eye-catching using textures that complement each other. Work the look with marble splashbacks or quartz worktops with dark cabinetry. Contradictory in colour and in touch will make for a kitchen packed with character.

There’s certainly no escaping this winter’s home interior trends and worship them or not, everything in our homes is decided by a wider style influence. Whichever seasonal trend you’re tempted to embrace, at Twenty 5 Design, we would love to offer our guidance. Because at the end of the day there’s no better feeling when the temperature starts to drop, than returning home to a place of warmth and an ever so stylish interior.
