In the beautiful town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, is an annual event for retailers in the home and gift markets.  Harrogate Home & Gift is a buying event which is perfect for finding new, cutting edge and design- led products for Autumn and Winter and we are very excited to be attending the event in 2015.

Products include thousands of unique interior design and homeware items, perfect for a variety of retailers with a variety of consumers.

The event is held for four days from Sunday 19 th July until Wednesday 22nd July and takes place across Harrogate. Exhibitors offer beautiful products from the rustic, handmade decorative items at Abbeyhorn to the gorgeous giftware of Zhambala.

Home & Gift is not only a trade exhibition, but a great conference and networking opportunity for those in retail – and this year, they are introducing the  Great Northern Retail Summit. The summit, which is taking place on Monday 20 th July, will provide visitors with practical advice from industry experts to help you grow your business.

Key Trends We’re Looking Out For

Copper is at the forefront of interior design trends at the moment and Home & Gift exhibitor,  Addis, offer stunning copper canisters that can be used to add nostalgic warmth to any kitchen, whilst retaining a modern, industrial look that is proving increasingly popular.

Alternatively, another design trend we have noticed amongst Home & Gift exhibitors is the Tea Party trend. A characterful tea set can be the perfect finishing touch to a dining space and the vintage inspired pottery from  Artyfarty Designs adds a charmingly quaint touch to any kitchen, whilst Clear Ocean Trading offer their more minimalist, elegant option.

Lighting is key in any kitchen deisgn, and exhibitor  Glow Lighting offer a selection of British made, sleek, sophisticated pendant light shades that follow the modern, industrial trend that add an understated beauty to any room. For a more unique feature, Zhambala provide a wide variety of nature-inspired lighting pieces.

The  Harrogate Candle Company offer a series of candles and reed diffusers in a variety of fragrances, such as ‘dark amber and sandalwood’ and ‘rock rose and pink pepper’, which can be used in creating the desired mood for your space through the media of scent and lighting.

It’s Not Too Early For Christmas

While it may still only be July, it’s never too early to start thinking about how you will be decorating your home for Christmas. We like to think that adding little festive touches to your kitchen at Christmas time extends the yuletide joy beyond the Christmas tree.

With the event being focused on Autumn and Winter, we have been collecting inspiration from exhibitors such as  Retreat, who provide various dainty, festive touches, and Naasgransgarden, a collection of Swedish designers who offer delightful Christmas-themed clay figurines and candle holders.

We are always looking for new design and style trends to make sure that the kitchens that we create are of the highest quality and that look beautiful, so no doubt we’ll be attending the event this year to meet other like-minded businesses and soak up some inspiration.
